A garden-growing, pest control-spraying, novel-writing, violin-teaching, homestead-experimenting, talent-developing, homeschooling, learning as we go, and enjoying the motorcycle-riding journey kind of family...

Progress... Sweet Progress

Thank Heavens for those anchored ropes!
Header Planner Extraordinaire...
Yeeeeeeah... windows!!!
Booooooooo! Snow... IN the house.
(Mud isn't much better... "Who let the dog in?!")

The LAST exterior door goes in...
... by that AWESOME mud-covered mess there! (aka: Anne)
The view from the street on the way to our home...
What'd'ya think:
pyramid or chinaman's hat?
"Watch out below!"
Now, is that the roofers or Thor?
-- The pyramid coming to its peak --
"Aaaannd... the Luxor is almost finished!"
What do you think?! Leave a hole in the top, put a huge spotlight in the attic, and shoot out thousands of watts into the sky?!
(---Dave you have the BEST ideas!---)
-- Side 4 of the roof --
-- Side 3 of the roof --
--- Side 2 of the roof --

"The dragon has moved upstairs... I repeat, the dragon has moved upstairs!!"
--- Side one of the roof --
David working under the roof - still in the attic.
Dane's getting much braver...
... or more insane. You pick.

Family Visits...

Our trip today to the house...
(the kids and gma Debi)
Silly faces - they froze like that for the next three hours! (jk)
It was cold!!
In we go! Look that that AWESOME porch!
(doors and windows)
Our garage... Thank you Miss My'Vanna' White...
Debany checks out (off) the punchlist...
Yesterday, Dane extended out our nook - much nicer!
We didn't stay upstairs long because not all the windows were put in yet.
But the basement was a tad warmer because Dane & Jenn stayed up onsite until 9pm (or so) last night putting in those windows!

Work?! Sure!

Blue skies, baby. Nothing but blue skies...
Do you like the paint job on our ceiling?!
Okay, that's really the sky...
Amazing views. I just loved how it looked from under the trusses.
Once the roof goes on, views like this have to be enjoyed outside.
Spacious trusses...
Oh yeah, I totally don't mind working on days like this:
So you can get an idea to what heights I can work at.
(still nothing compared to the roofers.)
okay... you privileged few.
For perspective only:
(the last punchlist is close to being done.)

I love it when the kids can be part of!
Here is our house
(the sticks there.)

We went to an open house with the same plan,
here is what it'll look like (minus a few cosmetic changes)
when it's all done:
View from the entry
Best view in the house!
it's in porter's bedroom
:(
The first trusses going up on our house...
This was on a good day - normally I look like I rolled out of bed!
It was a balmy 45 degrees here!
Here's me taking pictures of everything going on!
(first time to get to see --from the inside-- trusses go up)
Stairs going down
(yes! we have stairs! yesss!)
the front of the garage truss going up
(pull Heidi, pull!)
yeah! Now nail it!

New House Pics

The crane is here!
Trusses go up
Isn't that a pretty house?!
the patio - and our roof
it's a pyramid!
(Yea, you didn't know there was a pyramid in saratoga springs, did you?!
And WE built it!)
A nice progression on our side of the street:
look at the roofs and garages from left to right to see the progression

Coming Soon...

Updated pictures (and comments) of...

OUR HOUSE!!!

Now I Can -- 2011

A new year!
And Porter is benefitting greatly from Now I Can therapy again...
While Porter is working hard, the girls play hard in the kid's room
(while Mommy watches through the tinted window)
Sometimes, Mommy gets to be out there encouraging Porter and learning lots of great tips
(but it's usually more of a distraction because Porter likes to 'show-off' instead of working so hard!)
:)
Look at that 'cheeeese'!
(he was crying just seconds before -- so I pulled out the camera..
instant 'ham')

Porter is easily distracted with cars and planes!
(and sometimes they are very useful for exercises --
when Porter lifts his hips off the floor while his knees are bent,
we push cars under and he laughs!)
Sometimes it's hard to keep distracted from tight muscles while stretching.
So, Mommy shared her glasses.
Step over, step up, step over -- 'high five!'
Porter's always such a big helper when it's clean up time.
"Testing the Water"
Going up the stairs - using just righty.
It's kind of funny how we take for granted things that are easy for us...
and hard for others.

Such great progress!
Now it's time to apply it at home...
