NEW! Green Cost Cutters...

Well, they're actually a light tan-brownish color... the napkins that is.

We've not really been trying to be green...

but we've been trying to live off the land a lot more.

Kinda cool actually!

Thanks to Dane's friends, we're learning all kinds of neat things!

1) Cloth napkins -- definitely saves on napkin costs (which sky rocket when kids hit age 2 and up!)

2) A Bidet -- Which means, cloth bum-wipes! leftover cotton t's or a roll of cotton-poly jersey knit cut into TP-sized squares. (Of course, we like ours doubled up, just in case!)

3) Cleaning with baking soda and vinegar (and hydrogen peroxide). Ever wonder why we keep that stuff around?! Learn to use it -- but wisely. We're still learning more about that one.

4) Bake your own bread! I was wanting a nice kitchen-aid mixer -- but a bread machine will mix pretty well too. Baby steps, I guess. And when you forget about it, hey! It'll bake it for you! Can't beat that!

5) Crochet anything and everything - shoes, hats, socks, toys, blankets, shawls, presents, etc. etc. etc. And kids can learn, too!

6) Rabbits -- yummy! 1, 2, 3,... 100, 101, 102...

7) Goats Milk -- a quart a day, and lots of cheese. Butter... that's another question.

8) Garden -- "The Prophet Said to Plant a Garden" and that's just what we did! And how rewarding it was! Not only good food, but a great sense of accomplishment. Gotta work on getting stuff done before the snow next year though.
