Porter had an appointment on the 12th of February. The results of the visit were quite intriguing.
- Porter is slightly far-sighted. So minimal, that we have reason to believe he will not need glasses. The vision he does have is great.
- Porter's right eye is tracking movement! (Hence the reason why everyone 'says' that his right eye is his good one.) Meaning his right ('blind') eye is functional. The only point being that there's a connection in the brain that is not letting the information pass through. (Children's brains can sometimes route new pathways to compensate - so we hope.)
- Porter's left eye has a hard time tracking. It tends to be lazy. It tends to overcompensate and then come back to focus. Once his eye muscles become more consistent, we'll know whether he'll need surgery to correct being cross-eyed or whether it'll correct itself.
